Tonight is the Red Sox game and I'm plunked on the couch in front of the tv with my laptop in tow. Time to blog! But. It IS exciting. This World Series thing. I remember the last time the Sox won, I was a sophomore in high school and my roommates and I streaked around the dorm. I'm only a fair-weather fan, but the excitement was so tangible that night, and I couldn't help myself. I highly doubt I will be streaking around Charlestown tonight if they win, but then again, you never know.
So, let's blog.
Some photos from Portofino. The last of my trip to Italy!
Now, for something different. Here are some links and things that I've found around the web recently.
My parents asked me when I was going to start making money from my blog. This is something I am not interested in doing. I don't want this to become my job. GracebyC is my little creative outlet and it will stay that way. Also, let's face it, I blog like once a year so that would never happen anyway.
This was one of the best days. We met at Fausto's kitchen called U Giancu. He is a really into collecting cartoons (like Farside, etc) so he has a ton of original sketches around the restaurant, including one of Bart Simpson signed by Matt Groening. It's pretty impressive. But his main passion is clearly cooking. We learned how to make a long list of items, including: gnocchi, ravioli with walnut sauce, braised lamb, onion foccacia, apple tart, leak quiche, and so on. It was so tasty. We cooked all morning and then came back to the restaurant that night for dinner and we dined like champions.
ps. I was in charge of ONE thing. To melt hazelnut chocolate and then mix it with real hazelnuts, and then pour it into a candy bar setting. Of course I messed it up. After that I just took photos.
